A facsimile copy of the 1963 Annual in hard slipcase together with Limited Edition Certificate. This is to be published in August 2008 by Egmont UK — their second facsimile annual for Rupert. This brand new publication is being brought to all us Rupert Fans by Egmont UK and was published on the 3rd September. A hardback volume in a pictured slip case. An absolute must for any Rupert fan!

This treasury of stories illustrated by Alfred Bestall is superb in every detail. Great care has been taken in the exact reproduction of the artwork, and this book is lavishly illustrated throughout. It also contains previously unpublished sketches by Alfred Bestall, which have been kindly donated by his goddaughter Caroline Bott. The stories have been selected to appeal to readers of all ages, and will win over the hearts of all fans and even those meeting Rupert for the first time!

Caroline Bott provides the introduction, and she gives a very personal insight into his work. A contribution is made by a huge Rupert fan, Giles Brandreth. His Foreword captures the essence of Rupert Bear and why the character is still loved today.

This is the first annual produced by Egmont UK Ltd and it is The Rupert Annual No 72. The size has been reduced from the annuals that have been produced over the past years, and it is now slightly smaller than those of the 1980's (285x216mm). The covers and endpapers are beautifully drawn yet again by John Harrold and coloured by Gina Hart. The cover shows our favourite bear as always, with Mr Chimp in the shop, Bill Badger, Willie Mouse, Gregory guinea pig and his Mum and even two rarely seen 'Railies' coming up from underground. The annual contains the story 'Rupert and The Metal Horse', which has never appeared in The Rupert Annual before.
