THE CLASSIC RUPERT BEAR SHOP

Alfred Bestall always drew a brown Rupert on the cover of his annual, and did so until 1973.  The cover submitted by him for this annual did feature a brown Rupert, until someone changed him to white! What a mistake that was. The error caused the world of Rupert Bear to lose it's most celebrated illustrator, and this event has been talked about ever since.  A handful of annuals were eventually correctly printed and given to Alfred Bestall, and those that still exist have been changing hands at auctions over the past few years.  Two were sold last year and realised in excess of £20,000 each!

This fantastic version of Rupert Bear by Steiff has been made, in a way, to commemorate this event.  Limited to an edition size of 1973, the year of the error, this version is set to be one of the most collectable Rupert limited editions ever.

This is  the 5th edition from Margarete Steiff in this prestigious collection.  Podgy Pig has been beautifully reproduced and has been dressed in a most fantastic handmade outfit.  He is spectacular to say the least. This edition is limited to 1500 units only.  Naturally Podgy Pig comes in his own packaging, with his certificate of authenticity and the famous gold plated button in his ear.

This is the third issue from Margarete Steiff GmbH, and what a superb interpretation Steiff have come up with! Truely magnificent.   Algy Pug is made out of alpaca wool, the same as Rupert & Edward above.  This edition is limited to 1500 units only.  Naturally Algy comes in his own packaging, with his certificate of authenticity and the famous gold plated button in his ear.

Our friends at Flametree, the manufacturers of the Rupert Calendar and Advent Calendar, have made us this super, very sturdy wired bound notebook, featuring yours truly on the cover.  The image is taken from the 1948 annual and the notebook contains 160 pages.  Like any wired bound notebooks, the pages can be torn out with wrecking the rest of the book.  A super gift item, stocking filler or for everyday use.

Brand New Rupert Annual - Published September 2006 for 2007 - Annual No. 71. This is the last annual to be published by Express Newspapers. No need to worry though fellow collectors - Future annuals have been assured and they will be published by Entertainment Rights Distribution Ltd and Egmont Books. This years cover, superbly drawn by John Harrold, shows Rupert riding a Reindeer, with all our favouite pals lurking in and around there somewhere! 

This is the first annual produced  by Egmont UK Ltd and it is The Rupert Annual No 72. The size has been reduced from the annuals that have been produced over the past years, and it is now slightly smaller than those of the 1980's (285x216mm).  The covers and endpapers are beautifully drawn yet again by John Harrold and coloured by Gina Hart. The cover shows our favourite bear as always, with Mr Chimp in the shop, Bill Badger, Willie Mouse, Gregory guinea pig and his Mum and even two rarely seen 'Railies' coming up from underground. The annual contains the story 'Rupert and The Metal Horse', which has never appeared in The Rupert Annual before.

Brand new stories written and illustrated by Stuart with fantastic rhymimg couplets by Anna Bowles.  A truly wonderful new chapter in the magical world of Rupert Bear. Rupert Annual number 73. This is possibly one of most readily recognised pieces of music written by Sir Paul McCartney.  'We All Stand Together' was the main feature of the animated featurette, 'Rupert and the Frog Chorus' first screened in 1984.  It's popularity was such that it made No. 3 in the Uk Charts and the song was released in a number of formats including picture and even laser discs.

This sheet music is for Piano, Vocal and Guitar and it is not really that difficult to play.  This is still in print after 22 years and appears only available in America. We have imported a quantity of them just for those budding musicians out there and for those who like a good sing along as well. A nice piece of collectable memorabilia as well, for those who can't tinkle the ivories!

We are absolutely delighted to have been approached by Royal Doulton to market this fantastic Exclusive Limited Edition tableau, that we have called 'Christmas With Rupert'.
